Job Purpose

To oversee all aspects of dnata Cargo Terminal Operations at Dubai International Airport & DWC to ensure the departments contractual obligations are delivered to the concerned stakeholders (customer airlines, freight forwarding companies, private companies, government departments) while controlling capital, income and expense budget.


Job Outline:

Plan

- Develops the broad functional strategy and ensures it is cascaded down to the departments in Cargo Operations

- Ensures that departmental strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented

- Oversees the implementation of Cargo?s policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls to ensure procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled.

- Manages the preparation and consolidation of Cargo?s budgets and monitors financial performance versus the budget.

- Develop and ensures implementation of highest standard of customer service to the carriers, private companies and cargo agents who use Cargo Terminal Services controlling the efficient delivery of Cargo products

- Builds and maintains relationships and close contact with company departments, airport agencies to ensure strict coordination and understanding of changing policies, systems and procedures

Lead

- Leads with Safety by ensuring that decisions are made with safety in mind, role models safety behaviours and holds direct reports accountable for fulfilling their roles in line with the safety vision.

- Ensures the compliance of all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude

- Ensures the achievement of Cargo's objectives through the leadership of Cargo by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximise departmental performance.

- Ensures that the top performers are recognised for high performance and the low performers are identified and have required development plans in place

- Manages change through continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices

- Builds and maintains relationships with customers (internally and externally) to ensure that maximum customer satisfaction and optimum profit for dnata

- Ensures that product quality within Quality Management System is in line with the Quality Standard ISO 9001

- Ensures that principal requirements are met within the scope of the agreed exceptions to the GHA or standard practices/conditions of carriage

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree

- Experience in airfreight and cargo handling industry.

- Expert knowledge in Cargo Operations

- Advanced knowledge in cargo handling systems, equipment and computer applications

- Advanced understanding of Cargo Regulatory requirements and Freight regulations

- Advanced knowledge of all Airline/Cargo Agent Communication and Control Systems used in the aviation industry

- Thorough knowledge of the international Quality Standard, TQM principles and Decision Support Systems

- Expert Management Skills

- Advanced Communication Skills

- Advanced Negotiation Skills

- Advanced Quality Orientation Skills

- Advanced Budget and Cost Control Skills

- Advanced IT and Computer Literacy
