Job Purpose
As an Expertise lead responsible for the Architecture team in RBG Technology.
With his team the Expertise Lead Architecture:
Defines the architecture for the digital stack, including integration points with other platforms;
Ensures that the architecture is implemented according to plan, minimizing technical/tactical debt. Escalates to management if required;
Reduces complexity and steers towards preventing or reducing technical debt.
Improves the quality and consistency, and reduces time-to-market for the platform.
Shortens the cycle time from idea to service with impact to consumer;
Actively guards security and data integrity in the design, implementation and operation of platforms using standards industry frameworks.
Breaks down desired (business and IT) themes into epics and features across multiple platforms, that can be further refined into implementable stories.
Defines together with the Product Owner userstories to further improve the quality of the platform;
Provides guidance to Engineers, Product Owners, chapter leads, managers and teams/squads for the platform by describing design patterns in Cookbooks/Sequence Diagrams together with the engineering discipline.
Describes how these best practices can actually be implemented in practice;
Key Result Areas
Understand the relationship between Business Strategy, IT Development, Innovation and Operations.
Monitor and influence strategic vendors’ product strategy into Mashreq’s desired direction.
Manage the current and planned application portfolio for its dependencies and lifecycle by means of Roadmaps.
Provide foundation for developer’s decisions and considerations while creating working software.
Provide easy to consume Standards as code or binary primitives facilitating ING Strategy.
Provide high level Solution Architectures for new Components as a Reference Architecture.
Facilitate Developers when needed in applying the CookBook/Sequence diagrams patterns;
Close the Loop ensuring that code is developed compliant to the architecture and design guidelines.
Escalate to management if necessary.
Is responsible for coaching and the Performance cycle (on both a personal and professional level) of the team members so that they can get the best out of themselves in the areas of Architecture
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Makes complex analyses.

Drives the execution of future state architectures and roadmaps.
Masters several engineering skills. Has a basic set of architecture
skills and has experience in at least one platform or domain. Is outside-in thinker.

Is self starter.
Go-to person for Architects and managers.
Understands the impact of architectural choices on Risk, Security and Reliability. Understands the link between Security and Reliability.
Actively works on Security and Risks items.
Manages stakeholders at local (management) board levels.
Bachelors or master’s in computer science, Physics, Engineering or Math
