Director Business Development- TAQA, UAE
JOB PURPOSE:
To plan, develop and manage the business development and market penetration initiatives for the division, to effectively promote and position NewCo and create new revenue streams, strategic alliances and key relationships in order to drive sustainable growth and profitability, achieve optimum revenues and brand loyalty, and to promote the value propositions ensuring alignment to the overall business strategy.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Identifying Business Development Opportunities
Lead and direct the market screening for all organic and inorganic growth opportunities such as M&A, Joint Ventures or other BD opportunities across and outside the UAE and the conducting of due diligence in coordination with internal teams, to support strategic decision making.
Ensure the establishment of plans, budgets, policies, processes and governance framework for all approved initiatives within the assigned function in order to drive successful project delivery.
Develop and implement a clear roadmap for business development processes for investor targeting, investment propositions assessment and modelling in order to have consistent approaches and procedures throughout investment attraction and ensure business growth.
Lead and direct the setting of the division’s investment strategy in line with projected value and market trends, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with NewCo’s strategy.
Lead and direct the definition of the agenda for research on investment projects and ensure they are relevant to the organization’s goals, whilst exploring the opportunities contributing to the sustainable business development.
Lead the investment propositions assessment reports in order to advise executive management on investments’ techno-economic feasibility and business risks for decision-making support.
Together with the senior leadership, establish alliances with key stakeholders and investment partners on revenue plans and targets in order to drive the overall corporate strategy and facilitate the achievement of the business plan.
Participate in the development and submission of investment plan memorandum to the investment committees, finance and strategy departments to discuss projects and initiatives’ viability with subject matter expertise to support recommendations.
Drive the development and maintenance of effective key business relationships with all relevant external/internal entities and all sections with the highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.
Business Development Administration
Oversee the development of investment dossiers, projects and initiatives identification and prioritization plans, to increase alignment and focus of management and business units around execution goals and processes.
Provide guidance on technical and operational performance of the division’s strategic projects and provide support on operational standard and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) setting, to ensure the efficient management of projects through progress monitoring.
Business Development Excellence
Direct and oversee the effective management of the business development budget and monitor financial performance ensuring the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly.
Lead and direct the process of the review and study of current investments value return and investment performance and identify performance success and gaps (if any) to incorporate and consider in future investment plans.
Ensure that Management is informed regarding investment portfolio by providing them with information and reports on a regular basis.
Coordinate with other functions to ensure that investment leads are properly captured to ensure knowledge sharing and alignment of business teams to ensure proper preparation and drive for success in investment and project provision.
Market Research
Manage the conducting of comprehensive market research, feasibility studies, and financial analysis to generate insights on new opportunities within the assigned target market.
Lead and guide the identification of new areas, regions, and markets for potential business development based on market research and demographics.
Lead and direct the identification of new sales channels; assess marketing and promotional requirements for each category to quantify proper incentives for each target channel.
Drive the identification of market segments and direct the conducting of data analysis and studies to analyze and evaluate the attractiveness to NewCo for each identified customer segment within the assigned target market
