Wood is currently hiring for a Senior Process Safety Engineer for a secondment role in Muscat Oman.

Duration of this assignment is 1 year 

Responsibilities

Execute the activities and processes associated with Process Safety Engineering in the NGLE Project, under Process Engineering scope. Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and commissioning and Operation oil & gas industry. Responsible for supporting and executing general engineering activities directly linked to Process engineering.

Typical responsibilities

Monitor the execution of the quality assurance program for conformance to project requirements. 

To contribute to the development of optimal business strategies during FEED and ensure the satisfactory execution of NGLE project by achieving the project’s technical quality requirements within agreed budgets and schedules.

Lead the Process Safety Engineering technical detailed design scope to bring out the best strategies and approaches to deliver the technical requirements. 

Prepare the necessary documentation, establishing major methods and data as necessary and ensure selection of the optimum Process Safety design from both technical and economic standpoints. 

Ensure that design methods, standards and data used conform to Asset Owners requirements and/or those issued by Centre of Excellence.

Ensure the preparation of Process Safety and Operations Philosophy document incorporating user requirements.

In consultation with Project Delivery Skill-pool, assign appropriate Process Safety engineering resources and monitor performance to ensure all Process Safety Engineering deliverables are accomplished. 

Be responsible for the coordination, execution and progress of Process Safety Engineering design under the supervision of the Lead Engineering. 

Be responsible for technical accuracy, quality and economy of Process Safety engineering applications design.

Liaise with Vendor’s representatives and other functions on all matters relating to Process design and execution. 

Ensure OQ Safety and Quality control procedures are followed during execution of all work and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all design work.

Participate pre and post contract award in discussions with Asset Owners to assess and assist in the definition of user requirements. 

Review Process Safety Engineering Deliverables and participate in project reviews and workshops. 

Participate in solving Process Safety engineering challenges that are recognised during development of the Front-End Package or detailed engineering 

Identify gaps in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new practices or toolkit items that enhance OQ technological offering.

Other relevant duties as requested from time to time.

Lead Contracts Engineer, Kuwait

Summary Section  

The Lead Contracts Engineer is responsible for pre-award activities including bid preparation, processing queries from bidders from bidders, preparation of bid evaluation programmes, evaluation of bids, negotiation and award and Contract preparation.

The Lead Contracts Administrator I is also responsible for post-award activities including conducting kick-off meetings, coordinating all contract submittal and correspondence, preparation and processing of Adjustment Orders, claims and close out. Experienced in Contract enhancement procedures.

Responsibilities: 

Responsible for pre – award activities including bid invitation preparation, processing queries from bidders, preparation of bid evaluation programmes, evaluation of bids, negotiation, preparation of Recommendation for Award, contract preparation and award formalities in accordance with Client Project Gate System and procedures

Responsible for post – award activities including conducting kick – off meetings, coordinating all contract submittals and correspondence, preparation and processing of variation orders, claims and close out;

Manages the drafting of Invitation to Tender packages for contracts for large O&G facilities projects. Review and, if necessary, proposes comments on and propose alternative text/clauses to client contract conditions;

Reviews issues with legal, risk management, tax, and accounting personnel as a condition precedent to submitting to management for approval.

Functions as a part of a negotiating team consisting of project management staff, to establish the terms and conditions of a contract.

Monitors and ensures the business provisions of assigned contracts are administered to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Keeps the Projects Contracts Manager advised as to the scope, financial, and risk features of applicable contracts.

Ensures documentation to negotiate change orders are properly produced and maintained.

Prepares letters to clients requesting approvals and interpretations necessary to comply with the provisions of the contract.

Ensure project/facility acceptance documents are prepared and are followed through and that acceptances are signed by the client.

Furnishes business and financial information requested by the client concerning the project, as delegated by the Project Manager.

Identifies contractual problems and take appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory resolution.  Follows up on those problems which demand management attention, to ensure timely response to the client, and Management of Contract Quality standards.

Mandatory Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering

Minimum 12 years total post-graduation experience

Minimum 5 years post-graduation experience in oil and gas projects

Minimum 5  years’ experience in a “Lead” or “Senior” contract role

Extensive knowledge of Contractual Terms & Conditions and Commercial Contract Law;

Excellent understanding & extensive experience of the procurement and contract administration processes and principles from preparation and issue of Bidders Lists, Contracting Plans and bid invitation package preparation through to award, administration and close out of Contracts;

Strong grasp of procedural requirements & necessity of providing an Audit Trail for Management purposes; and

Must have membership of any reputable professional association.

Electrical Inspector, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Description

The Electrical Inspector will ensure the contractors are compliant with the contract documents, coordinate on a daily basis with the other teams to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor and process the incoming Inspection Requests and technical submittals,and perform the necessary actions.

Job Duties

Reading and understanding the package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, together with any associated updates.

Ensuring the contractor(s) are complying with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing as well as tracking quality assurance progress.

Maintaining records of the contractor manpower and equipment daily resources.

Undertaking all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).

Documenting, in the areas assigned to the Inspector, the contractor’s personnel and equipment, activities observed, location of activities, reason for activities, and means and methods utilised.

Additionally, report on materials delivery and following and implementing any site instructions made by the leader. Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.

Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the leader.

Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the leader

Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

Monitor Health and Safety of the construction works and report on violations

Good knowledge in basic design requirements, familiar with Electrical methodologies and installation processes and procedures. Knowledge of the Building Codes.

Experience in Buildings of all types in particular horizontal development, mixed use residential and commercial, retail and hospitality.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Competent at writing reports – can present views clearly and concisely in good written English.

Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.

Qualifications

For the Inspector position, a Diploma in Engineering is required. For candidates who wish to progress onto Engineer level – a related Degree is required in the Engineering fields.

Experience in Electrical related type projects required. Candidates must have experience in Construction Supervision with a Consultancy with a minimum of 7 years of overall experience (minimum 5 years in the UAE)

Senior Application Engineer, Doha, Qatar

Key Responsibilities:

Provide pre‑sales technical support to the sales team, consultants, and contractors for HVAC and air conditioning systems.

Perform HVAC equipment selection and system application including split Units, Ducted Units, DX-AHU , packaged units, VRF System and accessories.

Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure technical compliance with standards and client requirements.

Prepare and review technical submittals, data sheets, compliance statements, and deviation lists.

Support pricing and offer preparation by providing accurate technical inputs and configurations.

Coordinate with factory, product management, and quality teams to resolve technical queries and field issues.

Conduct technical presentations and product training for internal sales teams and external customers when required.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products, applications, industry standards (QCS ,ASHRAE, AHRI), and competitor offerings

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

5 Years of experience with Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, air conditioning equipment, and applications.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.

Good communication skills to interface with sales teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.

Proficiency in HVAC selection software and Microsoft Office tools.

Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
