We are looking for two types of candidates having either of the following areas of specialization -

    Type A data scientist will be specialized in translating business problems to analytics problems, machine learning model building and experimentation.
    Type B data scientist will be specialized in machine learning model deployment, scaling, monitoring, and debugging.

 

Common role description for Type A/ Type B role -

    Develop Predictive Models, Segmentation, Optimization, Pricing algorithms and other Data Science solutions using Machine Learning techniques to solve a range of business problems in the Retail/ Properties/ Leisure, Entertainment & Lifestyle sector
    Work with large volume of structured /unstructured data to develop models; ranging from data exploration/ wrangling, feature engineering, model development, validation and scoring
    Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis – to enable root cause findings, data related trends and patterns to help answer a range of structured/ unstructured business questions
    Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
    Work closely with data engineering team to guide them on structuring relevant data to facilitate data exploration and fast prototyping, report data quality issues.

Additional responsibilities for Type A role -

    Translate ambiguous business problems into analytical frameworks basis the most relevant solution
    Design A/B testing experiments to measure impact, learn and optimize implementation strategy
    Communicating insights/ recommendations to multiple levels in the organization

Additional responsibilities for Type B role -

    Craft executable ways of implementing model prototypes into scalable solutions that can be integrated in automated systems in production
    Collaborate with Product, DevOps and other teams to test, deploy, scale and monitor ML models as components to Data based products/Use cases. Debug machine learning models in production.
    Implement scalable pipelines in airflow to ingest and clean data and perform inference. Apply test-driven development to data science and model deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Key Skills

 

    BSc or BEng in Computer Science or equivalent is required from one of the well-recognized university

    Strong knowledge of data and metadata management including data catalog, data quality and data privacy

    Proven ability for managing data quality and implementing data quality rules

    At least 3 years of technical experience and subject matter expertise in the area of data management and data governance

    Experience with data lakes and data warehouse

    Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders

    Should be expert in SQL, Python, ETL tools and data management concepts for OTLP and OLAP

    Should have understanding of structured and unstructured data processing for modeling

Purpose

Lead and direct Radio Access Network sourcing activities and coordinating sourcing resources across Ooredoo Group operating companies (OpCos).

This is a Group Procurement position
Role Accountabilities

Strategy definition:

    Manage the Radio Access Network (RAN) category, developing and executing centre-led sourcing strategies
    Interact with Group CxOs and OpCo leadership teams to define the RAN category sourcing roadmap for implementation of category sourcing initiatives.
    Manage the internal and external category profiling (i.e., spend analysis, demand analysis, supply market analysis) and identification of potential levers to lower total cost
    Support the Senior Director of Network Sourcing in defining category specific sourcing policies and procedures (e.g., single sourcing, supplier panels, etc.)
    Build strong collaborative networks and communicates with internal Group stakeholders and relevant OpCo stakeholders to ensure alignment on the category sourcing strategies

     

    Tendering and negotiation:
    Manage RAN category sourcing activities, supervising centre-led and locally-led sourcing teams
    Manage the tendering process, evaluation of submissions and selection of RAN suppliers
    Manage the development, negotiation and implementation of Group Sourcing Contracts (GSCs) on behalf of Group OpCos, leveraging the consolidated buying power of the Group.
    Conduct effective change management with stakeholders post-implementation to realise value from initiatives
    Manage contract change requests from OpCos and escalates to the head of Sourcing as appropriate

     

    Supplier relationship management (SRM):
    Support the development of suppliers' KPIs and scorecard and manages the collection of supplier performance data
    Manage the relationships with suppliers to drive improvements in supplier performance and conducts regular supplier reviews

     

    Performance reporting and compliance:
    Support the development of measurable category objectives and targets, and produces regular reports
    Promote compliance across Ooredoo Group on GSCs and Group policies, processes and procedures
    Own the Central Validation Desk (CVD) process and drive this across the OG and OpCo organisations

People management:

    Supervise Group Sourcing Buyers and local sourcing teams on category sourcing activities, provide guidance and support, monitor and prioritise workload
    Lead the Central Validation Desk team (CVD) for the RAN category

 
Experience

    Minimum 12 years relevant experience in the category domain on telecom operator or vendor side.
    Strong track record in managing this category and implementing sourcing strategies across multiple operating companies
    Strong track record in managing and negotiating with suppliers in relevant supplier markets within Telecommunications
    Strong track record of reducing Total Cost of ownership for Telecom operators
    Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
    Experience in MENA preferred

 

 
Qualifications

    Minimum bachelor degree qualification in telecom engineering or other relevant engineering and science discipline

    Preferably certified by a relevant professional body (e.g., CIPS, CPM) or qualified with a relevant Master’s degree (e.g., Supply Management) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
