Job Description
The Site Engineer - Street Light will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of street lighting systems in their assigned location. They will work closely with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the street lighting systems meet all necessary safety and regulatory requirements. The Site Engineer will also be responsible for managing project timelines and budgets, providing technical expertise to support the planning and execution of street lighting projects.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the installation and maintenance of street lighting systems, ensuring that they are installed to the required specifications, standards, and codes.
Develop project schedules and budgets, and monitor progress against these plans, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of street lighting projects and identify any issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.
Provide technical expertise to support the planning and execution of street lighting projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including local authorities, utility companies, and other organizations, to ensure that the smoothness of the site works.
Prepare progress reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, and promote a safe working environment for all personnel involved in street lighting projects.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the scope of work required for street lighting works, including identifying potential obstacles and hazards.
Ensure that all work performed by contractors and project teams are following project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Monitor the performance of street lighting systems and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades as necessary.
Provide technical support and advice to project teams and other stakeholders on matters related to street lighting systems.
Ensure that project records and documentation are maintained and kept up-to-date, including drawings, specifications, and project reports.
Work with contractors and project teams to identify and mitigate project risks, and implement appropriate risk management strategies.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with contractors, project teams, and other stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
Participate in project debriefs and post-project evaluations, identifying lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Information
Skills & Professional Requirements:
Knowledge of relevant electrical and construction codes and standards.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage project schedules.
Experience Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in street lighting design, installation, or maintenance.
Attributes and Behaviours:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
